Not loudly. Not all at once. But day by day… conversation by conversation… sunrise by sunrise… and yes, even in the quiet of nights like this.
Here at Port Isabel Park Center, life moves outside. Chairs come out before the coffee is finished. Strangers become neighbors. Neighbors become friends. And friends… become part of your story.
Right across the street was one of those places.
Morning sun. A couple of chairs. An open invitation you never had to ask for.
Cardi knew it.
Every single morning.
Sit. Wait. Free.
Straight across the street with purpose… then settle in like she belonged there all along.
And truthfully… she did.
So did we.
What started as a simple “good morning” turned into something more— people stopping mid-walk, bikes slowing down, chairs appearing out of nowhere, conversations stretching longer than planned.
That’s the rhythm here.
Not scheduled. Not forced. Just lived.
And when the sun goes down… something else takes over.
The lights come on.
The breeze softens.
The world quiets.
And you realize—this is what peace actually feels like.
I’ve written about this in so many of my books…
that life isn’t found in the big, dramatic moments we chase—
it’s found in the ordinary moments we choose to stay present for.
A cup of coffee.
A shared laugh.
A dog at your feet.
A chair pulled a little closer.
A night that asks nothing from you… except to be there.
That’s why I’ve decided to write the next chapter of this journey—
📘 Waves, Wind, and Wisdom – Volume Four: Even the Nights Are Better – Coming out this fall.
Because some seasons deserve to be remembered.
And some nights… deserve to be written.
As this season begins to wind down, the goodbyes come a little easier than they used to… because now we understand—
This isn’t just a place you visit.
It’s a way of living you carry with you.
And it calls you back.
So here’s the question I’ll leave you with …
Are you still waiting for the “right time” to live a life that feels this peaceful… or are you ready to start creating nights like this—right where you are?
