The Freedom Beyond What Can’t Be Changed

What if you could finally stop punishing yourself for the life you’ve already lived?
In No Regrets, Keith Thorn invites you into a deeply personal exploration of forgiveness — not the kind you ask for, but the kind you give yourself.

From a childhood marked by pain and silence to decades of striving, fighting, and failing forward, Thorn’s story reveals that peace doesn’t come from getting everything right. It comes from finally letting grace in. Written with the same raw honesty that shaped Faith Made Real and The Unwelcome Task, this book is for anyone who’s tired of carrying old weight — anyone ready to stop running from their past and start walking with it in peace. In No Regrets: The Freedom Beyond What Can’t Be Changed, Keith Thorn traces how he spent years chasing achievement, and the journey to finally turning toward the memories he had spent much of his life trying to outrun. As regret surfaces in middle age, Thorn reexamines the damage caused by anger and the distance it created in his marriage and family life, then begins to see that peace depends on responsibility, not escape. His practice of Aikido teaches him to take a beat before reacting, and this slowly changes how he talks to others, and even how he understands prayer.

What follows is a genuine accounting of accepting what cannot be repaired and building a steadier life through a thoughtful, intentional presence, showing readers that dissatisfaction is a force that can redirect us to a more honest future.

If you’re carrying regret around every day, it’s going to show up in how you think, how you act, and how you treat people around you. No Regrets by Keith Thorn is an inspirational memoir that makes it plain: unaddressed memories do not just disappear; they keep influencing your daily choices until you face them directly and take ownership.

Thorn writes in a conversational tone, straightforward and easy to follow, like a chat with a friend. This really helps readers connect ideas to real situations in their own lives, and with practices that can be immediately applied. I love how he built a daily gratitude habit while watching evening waves with his partner, Melody. I learned the most from how he draws from decades of Aikido, a Japanese martial art that I now want to actually try. Overall, this is a truly wonderful guide. Very highly recommended.

I have just finished No Regrets: The Freedom Beyond What Can’t Be Changed, and I am sitting quietly with its truths, letting them settle. This is the kind of book that doesn’t just ask to be read it asks to be received. And I am profoundly grateful for it.

Keith Thorn has written a book that will resonate with all readers because he has meditated on his life experiences and with profound wisdom has applied what he has learned to discover a universal thread. If I were to cite every pearl of wisdom found in these pages, I’d be rewriting the book! The title is No Regrets. What does that mean? Essentially, the author is saying: live forever within the moment… leave nothing unlived because even in the dark, light continues. Just one citation: ‘time, I’ve learned, doesn’t run, it unfolds. And within it, we’re given the choice to participate in the unfolding with grace.’ This is so important because it is Route One to interior peace. Keith Thorn’s book is one to be read slowly and reflectively because it will enrich your life, so I have no hesitation to give it 5 stars.
